The Quality Fostering Story

Quality Fostering was established in 2006 by Tony Rae, a dedicated and experienced Social Worker and Manager. With a background in supporting children and young people in residential homes and working within Local Authority Children and Families Services, Tony saw first-hand the challenges faced by those in care and the importance of finding the right home for every child.

Tony’s inspiration for starting Quality Fostering came from a strong and simple belief: children thrive when they are part of a safe, stable, and loving family environment. He recognised that foster care could offer more than just a place to stay. It could provide a foundation for healing, growth, and a brighter future. With this in mind, he set out to build an independent fostering agency focused on child-centred care, where the wellbeing of every child would always come first.

Quality Fostering has since grown into a trusted agency with a strong reputation across the Midlands. We’ve successfully placed over 150 children into caring, well-matched foster families, helping them feel safe, valued, and supported.

We work in close partnership with local authorities and currently hold contracted tenders with 13 Local Authorities across the West Midlands. We also collaborate with other non-contracted authorities to ensure that children from a wide range of backgrounds can access the care they need, without delay and with the right match.

From the very beginning, compassion, professionalism, and commitment have shaped everything we do. Our team continues to build on Tony’s original vision, making sure every child we place has the chance to feel at home, form lasting connections, and build the future they deserve.
